Change is the current name of the game at the Quilted Cabin.

We began by acquiring two quilt shops and offering the inventory to you in an Internet setting in April of 2006. Recently, one partner, Sheila Marshall, made a major life decision to relocate from Arizona to North Carolina. Moving the business that distance was not feasible and being relieved of the Quilted Cabin responsibilities will give Sheila the opportunity to pursue other avenues.

Darlene Marshall Cary, a longtime sewing enthusiast and teacher of Beginning Quilting in Southern California for the last nine years, retains ownership and welcomes the addition of good friend, Michelle Kearns, who will now be handling your orders. We two actually met on the Internet!

If you've had personal contact with Sheila in the past and enjoyed her personality, you're going to love Michelle! Her great grandmother gave her yarn and a huge needle when she was a child, and the rest is history. She's been sewing garments since Junior High days, and quilting since 1990 when she moved to Kansas and joined the Walnut Valley Quilters guild. Michelle says the most unusual thing she's ever made is a striped denim wrench pouch that is still in service some 25 years later. Her quilting preferences include lots of traditional blocks in BRIGHT colors, some artsy stuff, patchwork, hand applique, paper piecing, and a good healthy dose of green in most
things. She has hosted many swaps and is trying to do more thinking "out of the box" in this area. Quite a personal challenge!

While we will make every effort to process your requests within a very short time, it will take a little time to both learn the processing program and to become acquainted with all the fabric we have in stock.

And we DO have fabric! Please visit the online catalog and spend some time browsing through the various categories. Everything is quality fabric from your favorite manufacturers, including brand new offerings and some older designs. Our Notions category is small but will highlight often-requested items that may be hard to find elsewhere.

We will continue to offer free shipping on all U.S. orders that total more than $100.
